POSTER MOSTRA

A tribute to the poster as one of the most influential means of communication, where art and advertising merge to promote everything from soaps to ideals. Posters have transformed the world and our modes of communication, shaping narratives, creating heroes, and allowing anyone to adorn their walls with pieces of history.

THE EXHIBITION

A public exhibition of art and words that thrives in the streets, turning them into an open-air gallery. Art and culture are vital to society, reflecting a spectrum of human experiences and creative expressions over time. They inspire new ideas, promote mutual understanding, and foster dialogue between diverse communities. POSTER aims to democratize art, encouraging contemplation and critical thinking. It has become a significant cultural initiative, involving various spaces in the Marvila area, including galleries, restaurants, studios, and clubs. Each edition offers a free and accessible exhibition, bringing culture to everyone in Marvila.

THE OPEN CALL

This project is distinguished by its commitment to providing new artists with a platform to present and promote their work. The annual Open Call invites creative submissions from around the world, having received over 1,200 entries to date, including applications from Portugal and numerous other countries. This broad participation underscores the strong interest and support from the global creative community. The inclusive nature of the process ensures that the exhibition remains representative and offers emerging artists a valuable opportunity to gain visibility.

PREVIOUS EDITIONS

Since its creation, nine editions have been held, involving creatives, partners, and the entire Marvila community.

AUTHORS

Over 300 talents from various creative fields are part of this project. It serves as a platform where musicians, designers, visual artists, architects, chefs, street artists, comedians, poets, writers, illustrators, and photographers can share their work. Featuring both established and emerging names, from national and international backgrounds, it is a vibrant meeting point for all forms of artistic expression.
