Paulo Albuquerque
Artist
Paulo Albuquerque (1988, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Portuguese-Brazilian artist, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. His work encompasses several artistic areas, such as painting, illustration and mural painting, and is distinguished by dynamic compositions in which different elements, colours and textures intertwine to tell stories. The themes he explores originate in human relationships, social habits and interactions between spaces and objects, often translated into visual metaphors that reflect his daily life and personal experiences. In his creative process, he starts by carefully observing his surroundings, collecting references through photographs, memories and direct observation. These elements are the starting point for compositions in which the balance of forms emerges spontaneously, but always guided by an intentional search for harmony. Movement, light and overlapping layers play an essential role in the construction of his works, giving them depth and dynamism. The shades of green, a recurring presence in his work, convey the organic nature of things, reflecting the fluidity of the relationships and experiences that inspire him.
