Freelance photojournalist and journalist born in Vila Real de Trás-os-Montes, Portugal. Named by TIME Magazine as one of “34 Female Photographers to Follow”. Her photography and writing can be seen in several national and international media: El País, Courrier International e Al Jazeera English, among many others.

Violeta lived and worked in Israel, Portugal, Kashmir, Morocco, Poland and Spain. She holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Barcelona.
