“Give me a colored pencil box and I won’t rest until I there’s nothing left of it.” His unbridled desire to draw comes from the everyday life. From the street. Cities like Lisbon, London or New York give life to André Ruivo’s characters, not always inspired by real people.
In “Retratos” (2018), the pen ink made way by the oil pastel. This is the young illustrator’s third and newest work, after “Break Dance” and “Mystery Park”.
André Ruivo has collaborated with newspapers Público and Independente, as well as magazines Visão and Ler, among other publications, and also with publishing house Chili com Carne. He has directed seven animated short-films.
