André Lima
Illustrator and Designer
André Lima earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts—Sculpture from ESAD in Caldas da Rainha between 1997 and 2000. His artistic career spans practices related to the visual arts, illustration, and graphic design, and he has developed his work in both institutional and independent contexts.
Over the years, he has participated in various group exhibitions and art competitions, including the 2nd António Carlos dos Santos Painting Prize in Póvoa de Varzim (2025), the 24th Festa do Avante Biennial (2025), as well as the 4th and 8th Culturgest / CGD Young Painters Awards (1996 and 2004). He also participated in the JovArte 2001 competition, organized by the Loures City Council, and in the 3rd and 5th editions of the D. Fernando II Painting and Sculpture Prize, organized by the Sintra City Council (1999 and 2001).
In 2000, he was part of the collective installation Caldas Late Night, alongside Andreia Nóbrega, Catarina Parrinha, Daniela Costa, Sílvia Prazeres, Susana Porcês, and Francisco Vidal. He has also created murals in Vila Nova de Santo André and Carnaxide.
In addition to his artistic practice, he works as a graphic designer and illustrator for a government agency, while also maintaining a freelance practice.
