Hugo Brazão (b. 1989, Madeira) is a visual artist based in Lisbon whose practice encompasses painting, sculpture, and textile installation. His work explores the intersection between fiction and reality, often unfolding into immersive spatial compositions that challenge linear narratives and propose alternative temporalities. Through the use of materials such as textiles, wood, pigment, and found objects, Brazão constructs vibrant, layered environments that blur the boundaries between drawing, object, and space. Narrative, play, and the aesthetics of displacement occupy a central place in his practice. Humor, color, and distortion function as tools of both disruption and care—strategies through which she reconfigures the relationships between bodies, identities, and spaces.
