A Biology and Chemistry lover, Mariana graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, and worked 5 years in the area, 4 of which in Maputo (2012-2016). However, Fine Arts and Photography have always been a great appeal, and it was in Mozambique, through contact with African art and local artists, that this passion came true, starting to paint with acrylic intuitively. Upon returning to Portugal in 2016, she finally decided to embrace her artistic career. She attended photography classes, drawing courses, completed her Masters in Illustration and Animation at IPCA and joined a creative team at the HUND agency, in Braga, working as a photographer and illustrator – product photography, events, architecture and portraiture. ; and illustration, especially digital: packaging, web content, brand identity and animations for online games. She collaborated with the Portuguese accessories brand CLUOH, for which she developed illustrations for printing on scarves in the autumn/winter 2019 and spring/summer 2020 collections; worked with Orquestra Sem Fronteiras developing illustrations for the communication of Residencies in Chamber Music (2020); She illustrated the book Mapa do Livros – Guia Literário de Penafiel created by Bairro dos Livros for the Municipality of Penafiel (2020) and recently painted the first mural in the warehouses of José Peixoto Rodrigues & Cia, Lda., a company in the metallurgy industry of Braga. Freelancer since 2021, she currently lives in Lisbon and dedicates herself entirely to artistic production – photography, illustration and painting – through commissions, partnerships and the authorial works that she makes available in her online store.
