His career has straddled portraiture and photojournalism, striking a balance between personal projects and the gritty reality of journalism—the latter having dominated most of his professional life over the past twenty years.
His journey in photography began in Macau while he was still a teenager in the 1990s, continuing through his Communication Design degree at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts and evening photography classes at IADE. After finishing his academic studies, he began working with the weekly newspaper Expresso, where he remains to this day—twenty years that have flown by in an instant. He has been present at most major national events and some international ones, from the recent war in Ukraine to Obama’s election night.
Along the way, he has received recognition, including through various awards. Among them are the Gazeta Photography Award and the Gazeta Multimedia Award.
