João has a degree in Applied Social Research (1997) and a master’s degree in Cultural Management (2013). Between 2001 and 2017, he was a senior technician at the Municipality of Mértola, performing various functions in the areas of Culture, Heritage and Tourism. Since the end of 2017, he has been part of the team at the Culture, Museum and Heritage Division of the Loulé City Council.
With no specific training in the area of Photography, it emerged initially as a complement to his professional activity, then as a way to document the various journeys that, over the last twenty years, have taken him across Europe and a bit of Africa, and finally as an – almost – basic need. He has participated in several collective exhibitions of Photography and is the author of a Photography blog.
